If the GFCI detects a problem, 1 or more of the following will occur: power will be denied (trip with the inability to reset), trip with the ability to reset, subject to the next auto-monitoring test cycle or repeatedly trip or visual and/or audible indication.

For additional safety, the device outlets feature tamper-resistant shutters that meet NE 406.12 requirements by blocking access to the contacts unless a 2 or 3 prong plug is inserted.
